I’m Stuart. I do most of the writing on this blog. And I mostly do it as a way of working through my thoughts and feelings about stuff. If it’s interesting or useful to you, whoever you are, then that’s cool too.

I used to be a qualified architect, then I sort of accidentally side-stepped into event work, co-founding and running two successful family festivals. Now I take on the occasional bit of architectural design freelance work, when I can fit it around being a home educating dad…

Anita is a freelance clinical psychologist. Until recently she worked for the NHS but now she’s doing a mixture of therapeutic and project work. She is the risk taking one in the family (in a good way) and swims in the sea pretty much every day of the year.

Henri and Wilf are our twins, now aged 10. They love being outdoors, riding their bikes, Minecraft (Wilf) and drawing (Hatty), amongst many other things. They both started school in reception, though it was Covid times, so a strange first couple of years. Wilf started home educating at the beginning of 2023 and Henri joined him about 9 months later.

We like adventuring together as a family and are slowly getting further afield, largely by bicycle. We also like trying to challenge ourselves to think differently or at least interrogate the status quo. That’s in part what has led us to our current adventure; home educating…
